Mr Limb is a qualified exploration geophysicist. His early career was spent in the Australian exploration industry with mining majors Rio and BHP.  Subsequently he worked for many years in stockbroking and investment banking specialising in mining corporate finance. 

In 1994 he struck out on his own and developed gold miner New Hampton Goldfields from an explorer to a large producer.  New Hampton was taken over in 2000.  During that time he also developed a number of other interests in the resources industry.

He has been Chairman of MDL since 1997 is also a director in Gippsland Offshore Petroleum Limited, an oil and gas explorer with interests in Jamacia.
